I would agree with all the other negative reviews on this washer. If it were possible, I would give it negative-stars!

This machine has been a thorn in my side since we bought it in 2003, when we built our new home. I wish I could have my old washer back from our old home - and that was headed for the dump when my husband salvaged it! Old junker with a broken knob. I had to use a channel-lock to turn the knob post. I would trade that for this beautiful Calypso that works horribly.

My first complaint was that I could not wash my cloth diapers in it and get them clean. I tried every possible wash load configuration, but they always stunk. Never had that problem with my old junk washer. Look in the wash during a cycle and see why; there’s not a teaspoon of water swishing around in there!

Since then, here are my other complaints: Clothes often come out as dirty as or dirtier than they went in, stains remain, greasy, black stains are laid down on otherwise clean clothes, the machine smells like mold, some soft fabric slips under the “agitator”. My husband has taken the machine apart three times to remove clothes that sucked down under the agitator completely. Can’t use powdered detergent, residue remains on the clothes.

For certain this is the world’s worst washer! I have limped along with it, because I am thrifty and it bothers me to just throw away something that *should* be perfectly good. And this was a very expensive washer in the first place. But I have decided I am getting a new washer and I will get over my guilt for trashing such a new, expensive machine!
