I bought this because someone decided to spill milk on my sofa and not tell me until it dried and began to smell. If you’ve had milk spill onto fabric or your car, you know how horrible it smells and how hard it is to get rid of. Using this machines hand tool I was able to restore my sofa to new and got rid of the milk smell with one use. Since then its been used on the carpets, removing spots that wouldn’t come out with my Hoover steam cleaner. It works really well on Berber carpet. Its also been used to detail our car, from the carpets in the car and the mats, restoring them to new and making the car smell great.

I bought this at our local vacuum /sewing shop. I’ve been doing business with them for years and the owner assured me that not only was this a great unit, but it came with a 3 year warranty which it wouldn’t unless it was a quality built machine.

This unit comes with 3 tanks, one for the clean water, another to suck up the dirty water, and a sealed tank for your soap. This is great for doing small jobs as you no longer have to toss out water and soap if you don’t use it all. You can save the soap for your next use. Speaking of soap, it doesn’t use that much. It comes with 2 large bottles and one small one. So far my sofa, the car and my dinning room have been cleaned with just that one small bottle of soap and I still have probably about half of that left so having the extra bottle for soap is going to save you money in the long run.

The unit also has 3 switches. The power switch, and a switch to turn the double roller belt driven-brushes on or off as well as a switch to turn the soap off so that you can just flush clean water down if you want to do a rinse after washing with the soap. The hand device is made onto the hose. To use it you unwrap it from its holder in the back of the machine and move it down to the tank on the front of the machine. Push down and twist to hook it up and then a smaller hose attached to this one hooks on the side of the machine. There is a lever for tools/floor and you switch it depending on which your using.

The hand tool does spray a wide spray of soap and water. I’ve found that if im right on top of what im cleaning, its not as wide of a spray as it is when im holding it back several inches. I placed it on my sofa cushioned and sprayed. The nozzle with its upholstry like attachment, I ran over the cushion back and forth and watched as it sucked the water and soap back out of my cushion.

My Vac guy informed me NOT to use HOT water (warm is ok) in this machine because it will warp the tanks. So keep that in mind when your filling your tanks. The machine looks nice, its a little on the heavy side but its not hard to use. I had no problem pushing it around my dinning room. And the hand tool made it easy to get right up to the base boards where someone had spilled something. I’m not sure how long it had been there, but it came right up. This carpet had been previously cleaned with my hoover (TWICE) a few weeks before and the carpet still looked dirty to me. Now after using the royal, it looks and smells clean. This is a great machine, don’t miss out.
