Char-Broil 463461006 Propane Grill

We have owned a number of grills over the years, but never one as well made as this. We purchased this unit over two years ago.

OUT OF THE BOX
This grill came in a huge box. Upon opening the box I was immediately intimidated by the sheer number of parts. I was not sure I would be able to put it together by myself. The directions, however, were very logical and easy to follow. I actually put it together on our living room carpet, which was an aid in keeping the smaller parts from rolling around. It took about 2 hours to put this unit together and it did not take a great deal of effort. Just follow the directions carefully and all will be well.

FEATURES
The grill has a huge grilling surface with an upper rack to place items that you just want to keep warm. The grates are porcelain covered and are extremely easy to keep clean. There are three stainless-steel burners with a porcelain coated shields to keep grease and drippings from clogging the burners. A grease cup attaches to the lower-rear part of the grill and this can be easily removed for cleaning. There is an external burner to the left of the grill for cooking a pot of beans or other outdoor gourmet cuisine. Each burner has a separate control that actually controls the flame level of each burner. There is an electric starter that will start the three internal burners and the external burner. The lid has a wide, easy-grip handle. Directly above the handle is a clear, easy to ready temperature gauge.

USE
The grill lights the first time, every time with one push of the button. I really like the three separate controls on the burners. It is possible to have three successive heat zone across the grates to perform different levels of cooking. I like to keep the burners at different flame levels while cooking. I keep the burner all the way to the right on the lowest setting to keep things warm while I am cooking at a higher level on the other two burners. I move things to the right as they near the end of cooking so that all items are hot together. The grill heats very quickly and it responds to changes in flame rapidly. This helps to prevent flame-ups when cooking greasier foods such as hamburgers.

DURABILITY
We live outside the Chicago area and it gets quite cold here in the winters. I have used this grill on the coldest of days without a lick of trouble heating or cooking. The stainless-steel burners have held up for two years through all of our outdoor weather conditions. I purchased a very high-quality cover to help keep the elements from ruining the outside. We use this grill about twice per week in the Summer, and less often in the off-seasons. It has held up well overall and we are happy with our purchase.
