I purchased this refrigerator in July 2008 from HH Gregg at the insistence of the salesperson. She said it was the best on the market and at $2650 less tax it certainly was the most expensive they sold. Due to kitchen remodeling, we didnt take delivery until August 23, 2008.

My first impression was very favorable. The fit and finish are like a Lexus! The drawers move quietly and the doors seal like a bank vault and it is HUGE. It is so big, it almost didn’t fit in the space where our 15 year old Kitchenaid 26 ft came out of. The Wave Touch controls are easy to use and the deep blue LED temp displays are very classy and, as it unfortunately turned out, a neccesity.

On September 18, the fridge seemed to be working fine. The freezer display showed 0 degrees and the fridge was 38. When I entered my kitchen about 4 hours later, the freezer display showed HI Temp and the warning buzzer was sounding. As I got closer to the fridge, I realized there was water all over the floor. I opened the freezer and EVERYTHING inside had defrosted. The mess on the floor was from melted ice and ice cream. It’s unbelievable that all this happened in just a few hours. I checked the controls, the doors, power, yet everything looked fine. I even unplugged the fridge and left it off for a few minutes in hopes that it would reset. It didn’t! Within a few more hours, both the fridge side and freezer were at 65 degrees and rising. Consequently, we lost most everything inside.

called HH Gregg that night and was told there was nothing they could do about it and I’d have to deal with Electrolux (Whirlpool in disguise I later found out). Electrolux customer service was very nice and apologetic and referred me to a local repair company. During a conference call, I was informed that it would take a week or more for Electrolux service to come out, determine the problem, order parts and then come back out and repair the unit. THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME as this fridge had only been in service 3 weeks. I demanded a new unit from HH Gregg and they agreed I should receive a new unit, however the final decision would be up to Electrolux. At this time, neither HH Gregg nor Electrolux has supplied a new unit or even offered a loaner.
Amittedly, I am angry and disappointed at both HH Gregg and Electrolux and I will never set foot in a HH Gregg store again nor will I ever consider another Electrolux product. I have gone back to using my old Kitchenaid as I now own a nearly $3000 boat anchor.
