I was looking for another Hoover vacuum that would fit my needs, carpet, bare floors and hose attachments. After reading reviews of bagless vacuums, I decided to stick with a vacuum with a bag.
The cost of the Tempo was very low for such a great vacuum.
It was easy to put together and did not take more than ten minutes, if that. The suction is superb. I sucked a sock into the hose and it was so compacted that I could not get it out without eventually breaking the hose in half. I taped the hose back together until I receive a new one, and the suction is still great! The hose is short, though, and really needs to be longer but there are two attachments that store nicely on the side of the machine. The bag is easily changed from the front, though, the front panel feels a little cheap. The bag that comes with the vacuum is a smaller size than the replacement bags. They hold a lot of dirt. The belt that runs the roller came off when I, again, sucked up something I shouldn’t have. You will need a screw driver to get to it and putting it back on is easy. For the third time, I sucked up something and the belt broke. Replacements are under $2.00 each, I bought three. I was told that the belt is designed to break so that whatever gets sucked up does not make it to the motor to cause more problems. The vacuum itself, is light weight and easy to lift. I am a die-hard fan of Hoovers. My previous vacuum was not a Hoover and I didn’t like it near as much as I like the Tempo or the one that I had for 15 years prior.
The only con is that the power cord is located so close to the hose that it is annoying when it’s time to wind up the cord. I have really been satisfied with my purchase.
