I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this washer. Some had complained of a mildew smell that would not go away — others stated that they left the door cracked after the cycle to allow it to dry out. I took this advice and have had no problem. Another reviewer mentioned that she had dripped liquid detergent on the top of the washer and that it had stained or compromised the finish, so I have been careful of this as well (it is a porcelain top). I did not purchase the base but have stored my laundry basket on top of the washer from time to time. I did find that once there must have been a bit of grime or sand on the bottom of the basket and when I pulled it off the washer (full of clothing) it scratched the finish — not bad, but noticeable, so beware of this.

The bleach and softener reservoirs are very small (I suppose this is so you don’t add too much). It is not really a “problem” but you have to be careful when you are pouring bleach — getting it in the opening can be challenging when you are pouring from a gallon bleach bottle (I spilled some on an nice rug that I have in my laundry room). Not a deal breaker by any means.

It does a great job. It is really quiet other than the fill and spin cycles — you can hear it spraying the water into the tank, and the start up of the spin cycle is a bit noisy, but overall it has not been a bother. No performance problems whatsoever.
