I did not want this vacuum. I hate vacuums. We have 3 rugs in our house. “Why do we need a vacuum,” I thought.
I love this vacuum.
My husband had to pull teeth to get me to spend any money on a vacuum. I had bought a stick vac and it just did not work. So we did need something. He wanted a Dyson. For 3 rugs we did not need that kind of machine. However, we have found more uses for this one and I really do love it.
I think the best feature of this machine is the missing handle. Most uprights have that long body that you have to find a place to store. You can’t put it in most closets because it is taller than the shelves, etc. This is where this vacuum comes out ahead. The round handle collapses down into the body. This makes it much smaller and easier to store. I also kind of like that it doesn’t look like those old fashioned machines.
My other favorite feature is that it is bagless. I hate dealing with bags. This canister holds a lot and it easy to empty. I don’t like how stuff sticks to the filter but that is going to happen with ANY vacuum you buy. I am sure it can be replaced but we have not had to do so.
The attachments that come with it are great. Another plus, we have not had any trouble with the attachments falling off while we vacuum the floors. I have always hated that about attachment vacs.
The best attachment is the upholstery vac. It is not just suction. It actually has a brush that spins and we use it on our furniture all the time. That was something I had not thought about when we first bought it. We have three kids so crumbs are a constant.
I have used this on our hardwood floors with no problems as well.
One thing I don’t like and this is very minor. Is that there is no release button to make it recline. You have to put your foot on the bottom part and pull back. Like I said, it is not a big deal, but it is a place where improvement could be made.
As far as performance goes, this little thing picks up everything in comes in contact with. We did have a problem with a bunch of hair getting caught up in the brushes which had to be cut out, but that was due to my daughter playing with a Halloween wig and then trying to vacuum up the evidence.
We don’t use this as often as most people would probably, as we have wood floors throughout our home. But, I feel like if we did have carpet it would do a great job.
