We bought our General Electric WBSR3140GWW Top Load Washer with the rest of our appliances at Home Depot. I was starting to run out of money so I looked for a washer that did not cost a lot. I found this washer and it has served my needs very well.
The General Electric Washer has two dials on the left side at the top of the washing machine. The first dial being for the load size . The sizes are small, large, and super. I find the large to serve my needs the best. The second dial determines the temperature which can be set at cold cold, warm cold. or hot cold. I like this feature as I like very hot water when I wash my white clothes. I put the temperature on hot, add my bleach to my liquid bleach dispenser (which is located on the left side of the washer in the inside) and add my detergent. I loosely load the cloths and let the water just cover the cloths. My whites come out really a beautiful white.
There is a place to add fabric softener in its own dispenser . This is for fabric softener only and I use what is recommend on the package. The fabric softener dispenser will automatically release liquid fabric softener during the wash cycle. I tell my kids never pour fabric softener on the cloths always use the dispenser so the cloths don’t get stains on them.
The last dial has 14 different cycles. The machine has Cottons ,this has a light, medium, and heavy cycle. This cycle is for heavy to lightly soiled cottons. The next cycle is power wash it has a power rinse, heavy, extra heavy, autosoak 15, autosoak 30, this power wash washes normal to fast. I really like using the autosoak for my husbands work cloths. I soak them in Tide and the soaking helps them to come out very clean. The power wash is for heavily soiled and heavy fabrics. This cycle runs longer than the others. There is also a pre wash cycle I use if the cloths are very heavily soiled. This is also a very good feature to this washing machine.
The next cycle is for delicates which is for cloths that need a slow and gentle cycle. I use this for lingerie and my special care materials. The last one is easy care it is great for washing permanent press items and knits and all of my wrinkle free cloths. This does a very good job.
I use to go to the laundry mat to wash my quilts for the beds. I can set the load size to super and add my Tide soap and wash the quilts at home. This is great not to have to lug these quilts around it is so much easier to wash at home. This washer is a heavy duty super capacity plus washer. I would never have been able to wash these quilts in my old washer. With my old washer the load had to be stopped and moved around every few minutes. I have never had this problem with this washer it handles heavy loads much better and seems to keep the load at an even balance. I am very satisfied with this feature.
I have had several washers over my life time and they have all been General Electric, all of them severed my family well, but this one cleans the best out of all. General Electric has really improved the cleaning capacity on cloths so much over the years. I hardly ever say anything made today has improved, but General Electric has done a terrific job on this machine.
My General Electric WBSR3140GWW Top Load Washer comes with a one year standard warranty from the date of purchase. You may also buy an extended warranty. My last General Electric washer was 9 years old when we sold the house and still going strong. I did not take out an extended contract. The washer did not cost a lot and in all honesty I think its cheaper to buy another one for this price. I have had no problems, I would highly recommend this General Electric Washer . I rate it 5 stars. Thanks for reading.
