General Electric DHDSR46EGWW Dryer

We bought our General Electric DHDSR46EGWW Dryer for our new house at Home Depot, as part of a package deal. The dryer came out to be around $350.00. It was not an expensive dryer.

My dryer came in the color white. It is in a laundry closet so it can’t be seen. It is attractive as a dryer can get. They put a dryer vent through the wall when they hooked up the dryer. I believe we paid $19.00 for the vent that ran outside the wall. The dryer has a four inch metal duct-work. I have to remember to check the lint trap that is outside so the dryer will run more efficient. The venting had to conform to our building codes.

The General Electric DHDSR46EGWW Dryer is a heavy duty super capacity dryer. The inside diameter of the dryer drum is about 26 inches, and 22 1/2 inches deep.

I have three dials to the left top of the dryer. The second dial is fabric care . I have four choices to choose from they are, easy care medium heat, delicate low heat, fluff no heat, and cottons regular heat. The large dial on the right top side of the dryer list all of the drying cycles . This will give the option for quick fluff to refresh or fluff up already dry clothing. this will give 10 minutes of fluff and no heat. It will list dewrinkle for removing wrinkles that are very lightly damp. Damp dry is for leaving items partially damp. This dial is used for timed dry, this I can set for how many minutes I want to dry the clothes. I can set this for 10 minutes to 80 minutes. I have a easy care permanent press drying cycle, I use it for wrinkle free items and knits. The drying cycle also has one cycle for cottons which gives optimum dry. I use this cycle the most.

The first dial on the left is the start dial . After I have selected the fabric care dial and the Drying Cycle from the large dial on the right I am ready to turn the start dial and dry my cloths.

This General Electric DHDSR46EGWW Dryer has a dial that is left of the fabric care dial this is the signal dial . It has three settings off, medium, and loud. I prefer to keep this off. It was very loud when I had it turned on. If I remove the cloths from the dryer after it stops running, these cloths will have less wrinkles. I try to get then on hangers and try never to leave cloths in the dryer.

The General Electric DHDSR46Gww Dryer is 27 inches wide and 42 1/2 inches tall. The door can be reversed so it can open from either direction. The door is 23 1/4 wide and 19 inches high. If you should desire to reverse the door all you need is a tape-tipped putty knife, and a Phillips screwdriver. The instructions are very simple. My door opens from left to right.

I clean the outside of the dryer with a damp cloth. I try and remove any dust and washing compounds from spills. This dryer has a lint filter. You will see it in the front as you open the door. The lint filter is 13 inches wide and 3 inches high, it has a slanted wire basket that is 4 inches long that picks up the lint. The lint filter can be taken out of the dryer just by pulling it out. I clean this filter after every load of cloths I dry.

I check the exhaust duct once or twice a year. I make sure it is clean. If i were to let this get clogged this lengthens drying time and cost more money to run.

The dryer came with a one year warranty from the date of purchase. Like my washer I didn’t purchase the extended service plan. I felt it was cheaper to by another dryer. The dryer like the General Electric washer in the old house was still working after nine years. I believe this one will do the same. I have only had one General Electric stop and that’s because the kids put a heavy canvas tarp to dry in the dryer while I was at work. That dryer was already 8 years old. I have no complaints with General Electric Dryers . This Dryer does a wonderful job drying cloths. If I follow the instructions for different types of drying methods the cloths come out great.

There is a toll free number 1-800-626-2224 if there are any questions about this dryer. The extended warranty,if you should choose to buy can be ordered on line anytime, at www.GE Appliances.com.

Overall, the General Electric DhDSR46EGWW Dryer does a great job and I would recommend the dryer to everyone, it is also a very economical appliance. Thank you for reading.
