This is my 2nd Shark sweeper - note I said sweeper it does not have suction, nonetheless I am impressed with how well it picks up dirt from my tile floors and sort-fiber/shag throw rugs and entry rugs. It uses rotating bristles to sweep dirt, hair and dust bunnies straight into the dirt storage bin.

I have one large multi-color-patches (each color patch is very bright, yellow, red, purple, red, black-looks like modern art) area rug that I would have to vacuum every day with my big vacuum. With the shark I no long have to drag the bulky, heavey vacuum out. Let me tell you, one of the colors on my rug is a big area of deep, dark, black, it shows every speck, but my Shark helps me keep it looking freshly vacuumed.

With a press of the foot level, the handle, with the dirt bin attached, lifts out of the bristle unit, take this to your trash can, open the bottom and out dumps all the dirt.

I also love using it better than my broom and dust pan. Broom sweeping stirs dirt up into the air. With my Shark, it pulls it into the dirt bin w/out releasing little floating dust particles into the air. Our 1st Shark was the small yellow one, after I ruined it (see Cons) we decided we wanted the bigger 3-speed rather than trying to get a new battery. THE SHORT TIME WE WERE W/OUT A SHARK SWEEPER, WE MISSED IT VERY MUCH!
