Prettiest vacuum I’ve ever owned! Eureka 8802AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum
I like my vacuum bagless and out of sight Eureka 437AZ Bagless Upright Vacuum I did not want this vacuum. I hate vacuums. We have 3 rugs in our house. ...
Had Many Vacuums before and I’m so glad I bought this one Eureka Boss Smartvac 4870 Bagged Upright Vacuum Having bought many vacuums over the last 28 years of marriage, I am so glad...

I actually bought the 8803 model (same thing, except that it’s an amazing, pearly, lime green color). Oh, it’s so pretty! I leave it out in the hallway most days. It just seems so wrong to hide it in a closet!
I bought it in a rush, with no time to research. (My “Eureka Boss Smart Vac” broke after three years of use - the night before my mother-in-law was too arrive!) Ran to Wal-Mart and grabbed the vacuum that seemed to have the best features for under $150. I was not aware that others were having “roller bar fail” issues. I’ve had it for three months and have not experienced this problem myself.
The suction on this thing ROCKS! I’ve owned many vacuums over the years, including a strong $400 Kenmore cannister vacuum and the infamous strong-sucking Eureka Boss Smart Vac. This vacuum beats them both - by far! I vacuumed every day with my Eureka Smart Boss, so I was shocked to see the junk coming out of my carpet when I started up my new, pretty, mean, green cyclonic machine! I had to stop and empty the cup often, as it filled up with all that yucky pet hair and skin cells quite quickly. (I had to empty it three times while vacuuming a 2000 sq. ft. house.) It was fun to watch the cyclonic action!
It is also packed with features! The “Power Paw” hose attachment works better than others I’ve used. Cleans stubborn pet hair off the couch quickly and easily. Works great on the stairs, too! It’s also not as heavy as others, so I can wave this attachment all around the house without tiring out my hand. The hose isn’t quite as long as I’d like it. I’ve almost tipped the unit over a few times, by trying to stretch the hose just a wee bit further. (I had the same tipping issue with my last vacuum so this may be a Eureka issue.)
The telescopic self-cleaning duster is the greatest new idea I’ve seen on a vacuum! You flip it out, extend the wand and dust all those high, hard to reach places (ceiling fans)! When finished, stick it back into the vacuum, flip a switch and watch the vacuum spin it around and suck the dust out! How cool is that??? It works, but the duster could use a bit more “fluffiness” to do a better job.
All attachments stay on the vacuum securely and all parts seem much more durable than my previous vacuums. (No parts falling off when you accidentally bang into the walls.)
I’ve seen others complain about the filter cleaning process and I have NO complaints myself! There are two filters that need to be washed and air dried after use. (If you vacuum one room, it’s not necessary. If you vacuum the whole house, clean the filters!) This keeps the suction at top performance! Contrary to other reviews, it is not a big deal. Spray some water on them in the sink, blot them with paper towels and set them out to dry. Mine dry within an hour or two indoors (not in one or two days, as others claim). If you set them outside in the sun, they’ll dry in less than 15 minutes.
My ONLY complaint is that there is no way to shut off the roller bar when you reach a bare floor. It’s simply not a feature of this vacuum. I have laminate wood flooring so the beater brush doesn’t scratch my floor, but I still wish I could shut it off.
All in all, I would not hesitate to buy this vacuum again.
