Reliable T630 Canister Steam Cleaner

After an extensive research process, a half-hour conversation on the 800 number and finally convincing my sister to take the plunge and buy one before me, I bought this unit to clean and disinfect the house.

I paid exactly $499 for the machine (free shipping), ordered on a Monday, received it on Friday. Opened the box, not too large, shipping label said 24lbs, laid out the accessories and filled the tank with water—out of the box and ready to steam in 15 minutes. I used hot water to fill it with (a tip from the company) which cut down on the heating time, with hot water it takes a little less than 10 minutes.

Since I had got my sister to buy one before me I already knew how to use it, but the learning curve isn’t very steep. Fill it with water, wait for the “steam ready” light to come on, and then you’re ready to go.

For the most part, I use it for…

- Floors (both hardwood and tile, use the large floor brush. For cleaning grout use the small detail brushes)

- Windows (use the squeegee, make sure to turn down the pressure on the handle)

- Bathrooms (it does a great job on soap scum / mildew / toothpaste)

A few facts / advice for those considering the machine…

- Warranty: 1 year warranty, 3 years for the boiler. From what I’ve been told, confirmed by the manufacturer, the ones that sell on eBay don’t come with a warranty, that’s why they’re cheaper.

- Uses just water, no chemicals. Told my husband it would save money in the long run (try it, it worked for me).

- If you plan on cleaning lots of flooring, consider buying an extra cleaning pad ($15).

- Cleans for about an hour, then you have to shut it down, refill and heat it up again. There’s another model (T730A) for an extra $100 which solves this problem.

- Can change the pressure on the handle (very useful).

- Buy from an authorized dealer (they offer support and will answer an post-purchase questions).

Conclusion

It’s a great little product which really will save you money in the long run (no more chemicals). You can’t use it on everything, but for the majority of your household cleaning it will work very well. I bought mine from 1-800-GO-VAPOR.com, they were very knowledgeable and supplied me with a great understanding of the unit. Hope this helps!!
