Bosch appliances, while relatively new on the marketplace, have gained a foothold with prospective consumers as a result of a number of box stores stocking and selling a good deal of them. The new gained popularity is well deserved as they take a number of issues the consumer considers hot buttons and have delivered tangible results, including:
Energy Efficiency
Innovative Technology
Reliability / Efficiency
Warranty
Space Considerations

We bought our General Electric DHDSR46EGWW Dryer for our new house at Home Depot, as part of a package deal. The dryer came out to be around $350.00. It was not an expensive dryer.
My dryer came in the color white. It is in a laundry closet so it can’t be seen. It is attractive as a dryer can get. They put a dryer vent through the wall when they hooked up the dryer. I believe we paid $19.00 for the vent that ran outside the wall. The dryer has a four inch metal duct-work. I have to remember to check the lint trap that is outside so the dryer will run more efficient. The venting had to conform to our building codes.

I bought this dryer at the suggestion of a salesman at a private appliance store. Right from the start the dryer worked at sub-optimal efficiency. The people at the store claimed that the Amana NDE2330AY is a model on which they don’t get much negative feedback. If that is true, then I must have gotten the lemon of the batch.
The dryer has a main dial with settings for Regular (with more dry/less dry and cool down), a No Iron fabrics setting (also designating more dry, less dry and cool down), and Extended Tumble; it also has a setting marked, “air fluff” and another that reads, “Automatic Wrinkle Out.”

This compact front-load dryer matches the whirlpool washer, # LHW0050PQ. The washer is extremely quiet. Unfortunately, this dryer is not.
This electric dryer is compact, at 33 1/4″ high x 2 3/8″ wide x 23 1/4″ deep (incl. hose). So, it will fit in spaces that are too tight for other front-load dryers. It also is reasonably large inside, with 3.8 cu. ft. of internal space. It is a nice complement to the matching washer. Basically, if the washer will wash the load, this dryer will dry it. Note that it is very short. If you are installing this side-by-side, I would recommend some sort of base to help raise it up. Otherwise, you’ll get a back ache always bending over. We actually stacked it on top of the matchig washer, and it is a nice height.

Why do I associate “Frigidaire” with refrigerators? Perhaps because refrigerators were the original product of the Fort Wayne, Indiana Company first called the Guardian Frigerator Company (though “Frigidaire” since 1919)? It was acquired by Electrolux. (a name associated with vacuum cleaners) in 1986.
Since we have a Frigidaire gas dryer, Frigidaire obviously makes home appliances in addition to refrigerators (stoves and air conditioners, washing machines and “tumble dryers”). They currently list sixteen different models just of gas dryers.

Why is it that I am writing about laundry machines today? Dissatisfactions with the hit and income share numbers for media reviews, mostly, though the number of major appliances with which I have intimate user familiarity is quite finite.
The GE DSXH43GFWW front-loading gas dryer fits snugly on top of a front-loading washing machine in our garage. (The appliances’ home is under by bedroom closet, though psychologically, they are just beneath my pillow…)

My wife bought this dryer (against my advice) because of its innovative top load design. It was easily $300 dollars more than the average front load electric dryer.
Our old one was a Kenmore, front loader which lasted for 20 years with only 1 repair!
After the dryer was installed, it took a little time to get used to the drum changes. It stops every few minutes and changes the direction of rotation. This is supposed to help dry the clothes better. We noticed it seemed to take about twice as long for load to complete, but assumed it was all the stopping and starting. Also, it is a real pain to have to bend over and try to reach the last item at the bottom of the drum.

I have had this Samsung dryer for about 6 months now. It replaced my Maytag conventional dryer that was about twenty years old, still operating. I purchased the Samsung dryer new, but at a deep discount as a “bump and dent” model, from a non-appliance “wholesale-type” warehouse business (I had to buy the washer and dryer as a SET, one fixed price) in Los Angeles, CA.

Starry eyed over fron Loaders?
The Dream-
Do you have a very large family or an average sized family and very little time?
Do you have aspirations of moving mountains of laundry and freeing up your time?
I certainly did. I wash more clothes each week than many with my 7 children ranging from 16 on down to age 3 and me, Mom and Dad.
