I have had this vacuum for a year now and I love it. It replaced my Sears Kenmore which at the time had a higher rating on Consumer reports.

This vacuum does a great job of picking up the hair that is left all over the house by my Shelties.

My husband went to Sears and bought this vacuum for me after watching the lady there struggle to show us how this vacuum works. I was not very impressed with her struggling but thought the suction power to vacuum was awesome. I clean houses that have animals and I have 5 cats and a dog at my house and a grand-daughter that has asthma. So I really thought this vacuum would be perfect for the animal hair and to aide in better breathing for my grand-daughter. I thought the $467.00 sales price for this vacuum was a bit much but on-the-other-hand for that price I expected the vacuum to vacuum by itself. I also was pulled into the “5 year warranty”. I have almost purchased a new vacuum cleaner yearly and thought buying this would last at least 5 years as apposed to buying a new one once a year (hence $100.00 x 5= $500.00)

As a self-professed perfectionist, consumer advocate, and stay at home Mommy to a 7 month old little boy who is crawling and rolling about, I consider myself qualified to say this review will be just about as objective as you’ll find. I love my Dyson, but had to go through three vacs via exchanges prior to settling down so to speak. I can provide the things to look out for, and if you really have your heart set on getting one, help you to make your experience as pain-free as possible.

I have been married for over 20 years and I have owned my share of vacuums. The other vacuums out there–they don’t last, they don’t clean, they just “suck”–and not literally.

After one more Hoover failed me, I told my husband enough was enough and I was going to bite the bullet and spend the money on the vacuum all of my friends were raving about –a Dyson. We have 5 kids, 3 dogs, and 2 cats so you can imagine the dirt, dust, and hair just in one day on our floors.
