We’re not much for change here on Spud Acres. The missus and me are just fine with our black and white console television and the rooftop antenna. Maybe one day I’ll buy one of them VCR’s so’s we can rent movies from the Bookbusters store in town. On a summer’s day aint’ nothing like rocking on the metal glider on the front porch or lying in the backyard hammock with a sweatin’ glass of iced tea while keepin’ one eye on the chicken legs and spuds cooking on the charcoal grill. None of those gas grill contraptions for us. I knowed a woman whose back porch burnt down cause of one of them gas grills. I did finally give in and get me what they call a chimney starter from Weber. It’s sure a lot faster than starting a fire with the flintrock. And now we finally got us a new grill too ‘cause the bottom of the old one was mostly rusted out.
