Three Reviews for the Price of One Thermador Professional Series POMW301 Stainless Steel Gas Triple Oven

Thermador Professional Series POMW301 Stainless Steel Gas Triple Oven

BACKGROUND

If you’ve seen a couple of my other reviews on Thermador, you know that I just moved into a new home that came with the total Thermador package including this built in stainless steel oven combo. Cost aside, these are really beautiful and top performing appliances that will bring out the ‘cook’ in you!

The POMW301 is a combination unit that includes a microwave, large 30” oven and a separate warming drawer for keeping foods hot. The oven features conventional as well as convection cooking. The interior of the microwave and warmer drawer are stainless steel while the oven interior is a porcelain finish. The look is that of a truly professional looking oven combo.

Love These Ovens General Electric Profile JK955SFSS Double Oven

General Electric Profile JK955SFSS Double Oven

I purchased these ovens when we built our house in 2006. I went with these after a lot of research on double ovens and these came out on top for me. I had certain features that I wanted in my ovens. And these had them all.

I had never had a convection oven before but had heard it was great to have in your kitchen. So I knew I wanted at least one oven to be convection. With the convection feature you can set it for either multi racks or a single rack. Which I didn’t think I would use as much as a did. Every time I use the convection setting I am never disappointed. My food turns out great. Brownies and cookies are all evenly cooked. Pizzas are crispy even if I have one on each rack!

Heavy quality and quick Sunpentown SO 2002 Oven

Sunpentown SO-2002 Oven

These type (flavorwave, nuwave) are basically high-efficiency inverted hot plates with added benefit of forced air circulation. Touted as cooking by conduction, convection and radiant heat.

I’ve seen countless shopping channel ads for these items cooking frozen steaks to perfection. Differences are container material, risers for the distance/level of the heating coils from the food and whether the container is a bowl or connected as a dome. Also, there is hearsay that the halogen lamp type is less effective. They are priced at about $100. I bought a Sunpentown Model SO2002 that has a heavy glass cooking container. It was $65 before shipping and handling. I declined choice of the other two because

1. I have familiarity with Sunpentown products.

2. I believed the product description.

3. I didn’t trust the heavy TV ad marketing.

4. I don’t think high heat and polycarbonate should co-exist for very long.
