Euro-Pro EP600 Bagless Stick Cyclonic Vacuum

I was looking for a vacuum that would reach into the corners of our home, cleaning up the occasional dead bug where it was hard to reach and sweep. This was a problem especially in the tracks of our patio doors. This would be much easier to vacuum than sweep.

We did have a Dust Buster. I guess hubby thought it best to plug it in the wall every time we were done with it That might have shortened the battery life. We didn’t like vacuums with only about 2 minutes vacuum time as a result.

We returned it and got this vacuum instead. It has a rod to vacuum from a standing position and a head with a rotary brush to act as a normal vacuum. As well, it had the 2′ corrugated hose extension with a brush attachment in addition to a crevice tool. Both store in a niche on the side of the unit.

We really didn’t use this vacuum much. We vacuumed whenever we had company, as we have a corner that drops ants from the ceiling, and this only happens in the summer time. We now have a problem with millipedes, so we need to keep corners clear of them as well.

Yesterday, hubby asked me if I would like to go to the back of our Explorer and vacuum up some dirt that had accumulated there, potting soil. There wasn’t too much, perhaps one cup. I was vacuuming and I noticed the unit was getting hot. It was hot outside and I was standing in the sun. I had been using the unit more or less continuously for about 10 minutes. All of a sudden it quit working! It probably had been used all of one hour since purchasing it!

I figured that maybe the unit had overheated and if I shut it off, it would cool off and I could use it again. NOT!

I purchased the unit because it was bagless, meaning I wouldn’t have to purchase bags for it. The dirt collects in a clear plastic container that holds about 4 cups. It is clear and you can see your dirt whirling around. As well, it had a 16′ cord, so I wouldn’t have to worry about the battery dying. The only thing I needed to worry about was the UNIT DYING!
