Loud is the first thing I can state about my Dirt Devil Dynamite vacuum. Don’t know if I got a special ’screamer’ model so I’d be interested in seeing other reviews once they are posted. My cleaning person loathes this machine for the loudness and I want to wear earplugs if I need to vacuum but, it does pick up very well, is light, and stores nicely in my closet compared to other vacuums I’ve had. 26 amps, Hepa Filter, and clear tube around the filter makes it easy to know when to unclip and dump out the dirt. The machine works great on both carpet and bare floors and I’ve even ran mine across my concrete patio pavers. I don’t want a vacuum for one type of floor, and another vacuum for another type of floor. I need a machine for all types of flooring and this Dynamite gets the job done. The canister is so easy to use and the filter rarely needs to be replaced. Our house is run by a long haired cat and I can tell you this machine sucks up that cat hair. I can see it in the canister. As powerful as it is, it won’t eat up your throw rugs either. My last machine was like Jaws, eating everything in its path, while smoke emitted from the roller. No thanks! Truthfully, at the next garage sale, I’ll put out the Dynamite. Maybe someone who has hearing problems would like it. Forget how much I paid for this machine. No more than $80 at Target not long ago. There is no way I’d pay more than $80 for a vacuum unless it was a ’silent’ model and I’m not even sure if those kinds are available. Look, vacuuming is not fun, but we all have them and if your looking for one with lots of power this is a good model, but the noise. It’s just wrong!
