We bought this machine in February of 2006 because, compared to other front loaders, it was a great bargain and it seemed to be just what we needed. It was large and we have a family of 5 so we needed something that was energy star compliant, water efficient, and good for large loads. The first few months of using the machine were iffy. Overall the machine did a great job of cleaning the clothes and spinning them fairly well so the drying time was cut. However, the spin cycle was so loud that we could hear the machine outside of our house and upstairs when the machine is located in the basement. It is ridiculously loud and makes a banging noise when spinning. The other drawback is that a significant amount of water collects in the “boot” by the door of the machine resulting in sour smells coming from the machine if it’s not cleaned out every time you do wash. After 4 months, the machine gave us an error code. We called, got service, and about 3 weeks later the machine was up and running. Every once in a while a bra or sock came out of the machine chewed up and we started getting nervous. We ended up getting 2 more error codes over the next year and got fed up with the machine eating clothes and not working. We took it back to the store, thankfully we bought the extended service plan to cover warranty work. We upgraded to a different machine and are much happier now. If you buy this machine, make sure you get the extended warranty and brace yourself for the spin noise. The other problem we had with this machine is the amount of mold build up in the detergent reservoir. It was cleaned often, but still mold continued to build up.
